Imagine that radius of the Earth becomes double of it's present radius without any change in it's mass. What will be the new weight of an elephant on Earth?​

What happens to elephant?

Doubling the mass of the Earth would double the weight of elephant because gravity and mass are directly proportional to mass.

What happens if we double the radius?

If we double the radius even the diameter doubles (D=2R/Diameter=2 x Radius.)this will decrease the elephant weight by 1/4 because gravitational force is inversely proportional to the square of the radius.
