If this happens then only the side of the earth facing towardstowards sun will receive sunlight , the other part will remain dark. Since it will only revolve not rotate then it will result in only one type of season and temperature which will not be good for earth's atmosphere but since its impossible then there is nothing to tense about it.

This will result in seasons lasting for 6 mnths if u take only summer and winter. As the earth is not rotating, one part will have winter night and the other will have summer days. Also, the days and nights will also long for 6mnths.
