Imagine that the Earth does not rotate but goes around the Sun around the year.
What difference will it make to the seasons and distribution of temperature?

If the earth wouldn't rotate and just go around the sun, we would have half year in dark and half year in daylight. This would affect the living beings. The side with receiving sunlight would be having extreme high temp. and the opp. side vice-versa. The situation wouldn't be ideal for any living organisms to survive. Also, we wouldn't have the seasons we are having now.

If earth stopped spinning completely...not even once every 365 days, we would get 1/2 year daylight and 1/2 year night time. It would really effect our human beings a lot. Our sleep cycle is affected. We get energy when we are exposed to sunlight. We can't be energetic when we stay in darkness for 1/2 year.
