The fixed cost F and Variable cost V .
F + 459V = x
The total number of managers = 459 + 36 = 495
The new cost equation will be
F + 495V = x + 81
Let the original cost of plate be y.
y = x/459
, x = 459y
The new average is y -1
(x+81)/495 = y - 1,
x + 81 = 495y - 495
81 + 495 = 495y - x
Substituting the value of x = 459y, we get y = 16
Hence, x = 459y
= 459 × 16
= 7344.
The answer is 7344
