“User onboarding” doesen't go as per your thought.
Term gets thrown around in the software world but has different definitions even to people on the same workarea.
Its teaching new users others that it's indistinguishable from user experience while others think it to just be swipe screens or quick product tour.

Firstly, I might consider persona based onboarding. Marketing is different for each buyer personas.
Buyer personas will have a place in my onboarding. Secondly, other than just highlighting what the users can get, users also need to get a pleasant feeling during the onboarding experience.
Thirdly, onboarding is about getting my top customers and work backward to discover what they did early on.
