Dear Mr. Sinah:

I am writing to your good self to make you aware of an issue that might get further complicated. I came to know about it during a counselling session with Charu.

Yesterday, she walked into my office with a desire to learn some tips to perform better in academics. I enquired why she wanted to know these tips; she confided that at home she was often compared to her brother, who is the topper in her class. I felt concerned about her. Psychologically no child should be compared with another child. Each child is unique and has immense potential. Comparison kills this talent.

I checked her grades, they are very bright. So, I being a psychologist request you not to compare your very bright child with anyone, even inadvertently.

I hope you will understand it.
