Imagine that you have just returned from a two-week holiday in Jamaica. You did not have a good time. The hotel/apartment was dirty and cramped, the food awful, the staff rude and you had to queue for a long time to take part in the water sports.

Write a letter to the travel company, complaining about the holiday and asking for some of your money back.

Sir,

I have just returned yesterday from a two-week holiday in Jamaica which I had availed through your company. I am thoroughly disappointed with the service and the quality of the trip. The hotel we stayed at was dirty and cramped, the food was absolutely awful, the staff was extremely rude and uncourteous and along with this, we had to queue for a long time to take part in the water sports. This is not what I had expected from the trip.

I demand you to give me a refund for this trip since it was not satisfactory at all. I shall go to the consumer court if you deny me. Kindly reply as soon as possible.

Subject: Poor Travel Management and Request for Refund

Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you out of great concern and disillusionment after opting for your Elite Travel Package to Jamaica, organised by your company in the month of May 2021.

Six months ago, I had selected your said package of 5 days and 4 nights. The package included accommodation, food, and travel expenses. As per the brochure, you had assured a 4-star hotel accommodation. However, upon reaching the destination on the designated date, we were appalled by the rooms we received. They were dirty and unkempt, with a damp smell lingering all the time. The food provided too was terrible. We were not served the Indian cuisine as promised by your brochure. Instead, we had to resort to tinned food because the staff was not willing to serve anything beyond baked vegetables and burnt fish. Yes, the hotel staff were very rude to us. When we complained about the pathetic room service, they blatantly asked us to check out. And, the water sports park was a horrible experience for my family. The hotel staff could barely handle a crowd of 40 people, and so we were forced to wait for nearly 3 hours just to visit an amusement park.

I am disappointed by your company's poor management. This is as low as duping a customer for a six-figure package. I ardently request you to refund the entire amount within the next 7 days, as also promised by your brochure. I have attached all the travel invoices with this mail for your convenience. Looking forward to your earliest response.
