(It is Sunday morning after the Ouija Board party. John Hallock had to take his breakfast alone as Lavinia refused to see him. After the breakfast he is in his library to write the story. )
Lavinia (From outside): John, I am going back to my mother. Unless you tell me who this Helen is, I am going to divorce you!
Hallock: (aside) I wish I was dead! How do I explain her she is an ugly ghost seeing whom she will faint!
(Helen is standing in the dark corner of the room from where she is not visible)
Helen: Call her inside! Won’t you introduce me to her?
Hallock: (startled and scared) What? Are you still here? Have you not gone?
Helen: (angrily) How could I without meeting you? You cheater! I asked you to help me in getting rid of these dratted Ouija Boards! And you…you started using them yourself! I am going to teach you a lesson! (Lavinia opens the library door and enters.)
Lavinia: (surprised) Who are you talking to? I know you are hiding something from me?
Helen: (coming to the middle of the room) I am Helen. Hello Mrs Hallock!
Hallock: (Jumping between Lavinia and Helen tries to hide the latter) Darling you go out. I will explain you everything later!
Lavinia: No, I will not go. Who is this repulsion in the library? What are you doing with her?
Helen: (angrily) I am the ghost from Writer’s Inspiration Bureau. I have always helped your husband in writing ghost stories. If I had not helped him, he could not write a line I bet. I just wanted a favour from him. But instead of the favour, he did the very thing which is making our life hell these days. So I am here for a revenge!
Lavinia: (shocked) John how long have you known this repulsion? What favour did she want from yiu?
Hallock: (nervous and at loss for words) Darling it is a long story. Actually she wanted me to help her stop people using Ouija Board. Before I could talk to you, you organized the Ouija Board party; then you forced me to be Miss Hinkle’s partner. Unfortunately, Helen appeared in the Ouija Boards. She thinks I have done all of this intentionally.
Helen: (relenting) What did you say? You were not involved in it! I thought it was you who organized this party!
Lavinia: (assertively) No, it was I who had it arranged. John was insisting on me to return the Ouija Board to the shop. Now I understand why you were so insistent!
Helen: (calmly) Hmm! Now I get it. You tried your best to do what I asked you! My anger against you is a mistake. I won’t bother you any longer. I don’t want any revenge either.
Lavinia: (firmly) Listen Miss Ghost! You don’t need to help my husband with any story in future. We won’t use any Ouija Board ever. You just stay away from our family.
Hallock: Yes Helen, I am giving up writing ghost stories. I will pick up some other genre. Sorry for the trouble. Good bye.
(Helen vanishes into the thin air. Hallock and Lavinia hug each other)
