Subject: Youngsters losing values and respect for elders
Sir:
I am writing this letter to express my deep concern over the problem youngsters not treating their elders respectfully. They take them for granted every now and then. In every household, this disrespect can be seen. Young children neither treat their parents reverentially, nor their grandparents. They can be seen yelling at them, making fun of them, and not listening to them.
The prime reason behind this respect is the TV and social media combined with life-style changes caused by mobile phones. Most of the time there are glued to their devices, whenever they are asked to do some job, they get angry and annoyed. They often forget to pay respect to their family members.
The schools and elders should play an active role in teaching them how to treat the elderly respectfully. Do give my views some space in your esteemed daily for awareness among people.
