Dear Diary:
It has been more than a month since the tiger hunt episode near our village forest. I have started feeling bad about it. Just for the greed of a thousand rupees, I agreed to assist Mrs. Packletide in the tiger hunt. Though, the tiger we arranged was very old, yet morally it was not right. We, human beings have no right to kill any animal created by God. It has become a fashion among these foreigners to hunt tigers in our country; as a result the tiger population has drastically decreased. I am ashamed of myself that I became a part of this despicable hunting. I promise to God, I will neither help any foreigner or Indian in the tiger hunt, nor let anyone indulge in any such activity near my village. That’s all dear diary. Good night.
Dear Diary,
I have to confess that given our situation and the huge amount of money that Mrs. Packetide was going to pay to anyone who would help her in shooting the tiger, we couldn’t handle our greed. We tried our best to drive the tiger back to the town to the extent that we even strategically baited some of our goats. Even after all that, the one thing we were worried about was that the tiger would die of old age before being hunted. Even though everyone was celebrating after the hunt, I have been filled with immense guilt over the past couple of days.
