10 October, 2019. Thursday.
Today will always remain one of the most important days of my life. I met Humpy Koneru, my idol since I was a little girl. She is the grandmaster in chess and one of the most influential women in the sports.
I never thought I'd meet her that easily but I guess I was lucky. It happened like this.
We were playing in school as usual when there was an announcement that we are to assemble in the auditorium right after break. All classes were cancelled for one important occasion. Happy that atleast all classes are cancelled, I was hopping to the auditorium when we were led to the hall to have a special program for a sportsperson who was an alumni of our school. Little did I know that that person was to be my idol Koneru Humpy, who had been a student of our school her whole high school life.
When the program was over, I had the chance to meet her in person and even got her autograph, and took a picture with her too. I couldn't still believe how it all happened. But I am so happy that I get to meet her. She was so down to earth and easy to approach.
I am going to keep the autograph and the picture with me and treasure it all my life.
I am so so happy.
