The pathshala's had there golden time but they were on a path to extinction in the nineteenth century because the British colonial rue which emphasized on western education and were promoting the Christian missionaries and more and more people were attracted toward those but away from these Pathshala's survived.

Pathshala routine would really be strict. The students were required to get up early in the morning and to get ready for the lectures. Students were lectured on Vedas, Sanskrit language, Mathematics and astrology were also taught there.The Vedic math which really on a path to extinction would also been taught there. Many also taught polictics the "Rajniti" .
