Archimedes had a great impact. The greatest impact I think he had was finding the value of pi (pie) which is 3.14159. It may look more familiar if I show you the symbol- πArchimedes was a Greek mathematician. He came up with quite a fewformulas and some significant work regarding Pi. However, his workwas not elaborated on until more modern times.Archimedes' discovered that any object that floats in water displaces an amount of water that weighs exactly the same as the object's own weight, no matter how large it is. That discovery made it possible to build much bigger boats and ships.
