Impact of bioinformatics in vaccine discovery:

Due to increase in the concentration of pathogens in the environment, the demands for vaccines to eradicate them at the initial stage are very high. Several methodologies have been tried to diminish the occasions and cost of vaccines, essentially concentrating on the determination of suitable antigens or antigenic structures, bearers, and adjuvant.

One of these methodologies is the inclusion of bioinformatics techniques and investigations into vaccine preparation process.

The following approaches of bioinformatics have been used in vaccine development:

  • Reverse vaccinology
  • Immunoinformatics
  • Structural vaccinology
