Haritha Haaram, is the brain child of Telangana State Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao. He has launched it on July 5 2015 with an aim to increase the tree cover in the Telangana State.

I felt very happy when I heard about this mission because now-a-days many people are cutting down trees for building apartments, malls etc. He has not just launched the programme but also has asked every person to plant one sapling.

Chief Minister and all his cabinet ministers especially Forest Minster Joggu Ramanna with all MPs, MLAs, MLCs, IAS and IPS and IFS officers worked hard to make this programme a great success. I was surprised when I heard that 46 crore plants are going to be planted this year.

To improve forest cover from 24 per cent to 33 per cent.
To plant and protect 230 crore saplings in 4 years.
15.86 crore saplings will be planted in the first year.
46 crore saplings will be planted in the state during this year.
25 lakh saplings will be planted in twin cities on July 11.
This was a successful mission all over the world. To make it 100 per cent successful government should include local people, villagers and community leaders. The government should give them all the responsibilities for the growth of trees. Without plants it will be difficult for us to survive.
