Meriodinal circulation helps in transfer of energy between low pressure belts and high pressure belts.  Most of the cyclonic, tropical cyclones and anti cyclonic movements are dependent on the tricellular meriodinal circulation.  The shifting process of low and high pressure belts are responsible for controlling the air movements all across the globe by a process of convergence and divergence.
