The peripheral nervous systemincludes all the nerves in the body that lie outside of the spinal cord and the brain. These nerves carry information to and from the central nervous system to provide complex body functions. Sensory cells are involved in taking information from the periphery to the central nervous system.

peripheral nervous system consists of nerves that either directly enter or exit from CNS.it connects the CNS with the entire body.
it is of 3 types;
Visceral nerves- special type of nerves that connects spinal cord to the internal organs
Cranial nerves- the nerves present in head
Spinal nerves- the nerves which arise from spinal cord and extends throughout the body except head.
