The rhizobuim bacteria has its importance in agriculture. It infects the roots of the leguminous plants to form nodules in which the this bacteria fixes nitrogen in useful form for the plant.

1. Rhizobium bacteria helps is nitrogen fixation in the soil which is essential for plants
2. Rhizobium bacteria lives in the nodules of root of legumes which develops nitrogen factory in the nodules and hence it nourishes the legumes
3. Rhizobium bacteria helps to transform atmospheric nitrogen to simple nitrogen available for plant
4. In return plant receives fixed nitrogen and produce proteins and food
