✴Earlier people had to travel trough the sea routes via the tip of south africa trough the cape of good hope which used to be more 20,000 km.
✴ But after the opening of suez canal in 1869, this distance was reduced the distance by around 7000 km.
✔So, it proved to be a boon that favoured trade with european countries.
