Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a cleanliness campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a nationwide cleaning campaign. It has been implemented in the light of the idea of a clean India. Making India a clean country was a dream of Mahatma Gandhi, which is why it was started by the Indian Government on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi had tried to clean India by inspiring Naro and people in his time, but failed due to the low interest of the people.
But after a few years, this Swachh Bharat Mission was restarted by the Indian government to make it a success, which is estimated to end Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary. It started on October 2, 2014 on the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. This is a big challenge for all citizens of India. This is possible only if every person living in India has understood their responsibility for this campaign and try to complete it together to make a successful mission. The famous Indian celebrities took this initiative and spread it as an awareness program from all over India. Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has banned pan, gutkha and other tobacco products that chewed in government offices in Uttar Pradesh in March 2017.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a national level campaign launched by the Government of India. This event was flagged off by president Pranab Mukherjee. It covers 4041 statutory towns to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country. This campaign had been officially launched on 2 October, 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself wielded the broom and cleaned a road. Modi addressed the citizens of India and asked everyone to join this campaign. The campaign is India's biggest ever cleanliness drive and 3 million government employees and schools and colleges students of India participated in this event.
This campaign aims to accomplish the vision of 'Clean India' by October 2019, 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and is expected to cost over INR 62000 crore (US $10 billion). This campaign has been described as "beyond politics" and "inspired by patriotism".
India, our country is widely notorious for its unclean streets, offices and railway stations and more so for the poor civic sense of the Indians. Rightly so, because people can be seen littering, splitting and easing themselves in public just about everywhere. It's shameful and embarrassing.
When India is a contender for becoming a superpower, it's quite a regressive thing, that we are unable to keep our home, our country clean
