 A circle is a simple closed shape. It is the set of all points in a plane that are at a given distance from a given point, the centre; equivalently it is the curve traced out by a point that moves so that its distance from a given point is constant.

CIRCLE:

The locus of a point which moves in a plane so that its distance from a fixed point is constant it is called as circle a fixed point is known as centre of the circle and the fixed distance is known as the radius of the circle .

RADIUS:
The distance between centre of the circle and any point on the circle is called its radius a circle has an unlimited number of radii

DIAMETER:
The chord that passes through the centre of the circle is known as its diameter or diameter is the largest chord in a circle a circle has unlimited number of diameters.
Diameter=2×radius

CHORD:
The line segment joining any two points on the circle is called as called

ARC:
The part of a circle that is cut off by a chord is called an Arc of the circle

SECTOR:
A sector is a figure enclosed by two radii and the area lying between them .

TANGENT TO A CIRCLE;
A line which meets a circle exactly at one point is called a tangent to the circle and the point is known as point of contact

CONGRUENT CIRCLES:
Two circles of equal radii are congruent circles
