Subject: Teachers Day Celebrations

Sir
The 5th of September is celebrated as a Teacher's Day in India. In the year 1962 some students of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was then the President of India went to him to celebrate his birthday. Dr Radhakrishnan said to them,”Instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if September 5 is observed a Teacher's Day”. Since then the day has been observed as the Teacher's Day in India. On this day, the students express their love and regards for their teachers in various ways. Functions are held at the local level and also at the state and national levels. Teachers are honoured with awards for the distinguished service in the cause of education. It is a proud day for all teachers to see their students look upon them with respectful and grateful eyes. It becomes the sacred duty of all students to observe this day in all devotion.

Yours truly

Respected sir,

Subject : My views on teacher's day.

I am a student of class 9 living in (city) for quite a few years. I am writing this letter to express my views of teacher's day.

According to me,teacher is a human-God where we find guidance, love, discipline and friendship all in one person. As a student, I always love my teachers very much. Teacher is a profession that makes every proffession, so, a proffesiob of that of teacher's is of great importance. Many leaders and great personalities where the result of teacher's hard work.

So, you can understand how important is the role of teacher in every student. I am having a strong opinion that teacher's day must be celebrated in school campuses every year. But, it's not happening nowadays. Teacher's day is the most suitable day when we can express our great gratitude towards the teacher we adore the most. It must be a grand celebration to celebrate. It would make teachers smile and cry at one same moment.

Every proffession deserves a respect. But a Teacher's, demands and deserves more. That is because teacher is always hard-working and caring and live her/his students just as the mothers too. Even the Teacher retires, Teacher is always respected. Teacher's hard work must be respected and valued.

These are my views on Teacher's day and respect needed for a teacher. I really hope you will leave one coulomn of your prestigious newspaper to cover the feature of teacher's day on the day itself.
