To find:

  • If the change in the length is same every year, what is the rate of change in length every year.

Solution:

The change in 12 years is - 252 sq cm and the change in length is same every year.

∴ The change in length every year  = - 252/12

∴ The change in length ever year is - 21 cm

→ Change in length if positive the length increase and if it's negative then the length decreases.

Hence, the change is of 21 cm.

If x is a original length the length and 21 is the change in the length.

∴ Rate of change % = 2100/x ... for every year
