At the time of 1800s, a huge quantity of silk cloths, muslin etc was exported to England by East India Comapny since those were not available at England or at Europe. This was the time when clothes became expensive at India. Also, at the same time, men in India were adopting mill-made western clothes, hence, the reduction in usages of silk and muslin took place. Plus, due to the manufacturing process and expensive nature of these materials became expensive and fell out.
