Answer :- Dr. B.R Ambedkar

In 1927 Dr. But.R Ambedkar launched the Mahad Satyagraha on 20 March 1927.

Article 17 of the Indian constitution abolishes. untouchability in any form.

But is it really gone?

A historic movement by Dr. B.R Ambedkar to defy untouchability and reclaimed public space for details.

On March 20 , 1927 , Dr Ambedkar led thousands of Dalits to the chavdar lake in mahad.

He demanded that Dalits be able to access public water as is their moral and legal rights. Although the Bole resolution had allowed public thanks to be used by Dalits it has existed only on paper until now.

Mahad Satyagraha was a peaceful protest, but it had revolutionary implications.

In retaliation, upper cast Hindu raised a false rumour that the "untouchables" where planning to enter the veereshwar temple.

Many of the Dailts were brutally attacked by upper cast Hindu. Upper cast Hindu also carried out a "purification ritual" to undo the "desecration" committed by the Dalits for marerly drinking from the public tank.

Unfortunately casteism like this is rampant even today. that's why it is even more important to remember the Mahad Satyagraha.
