Let x be the number of passengers in 2005.

Then the number of passengers in 2006 was  x*(1+0.08) = 1.08x,

and the number of passengers in 2007 was 1.08x*(1+0.08) = 1.08%5E2%2Ax = 1.1664x.

The increase from 2005 to 2007 was  1.1664x - x = 0.1664x,

and the total percentage of increase was  Change/ original *100

=(0.1664x/x)100

0.1664*100
