We have to calculate the difference of the time lapsed  between the minute hand and hour hand in 22 minutes.

Solution

Since,

The angular distance covered by the hour hand in 1 hour = 360/12

= 30 degree

Therefore the angular distance covered by the hour hand in 1 minute = 30/60

=1/2 degree

The angular distance covered by the minute hand in 1 minute = 360/60

= 6 degree

Therefore the difference in the angular distance of minute hand by hour hand =  6 degree - 1/2 degree

= 5.5 degree

Therefore in 22 minutes the difference will be

= 22* 5.5

= 121 degree
