given 3x+2y=12

2y= 12-3x
⇒y= (12-3x)/2----(1)
____________________

i) if x=2 then y = (12- 3*2)/2 = (12-6)/2 = 6/2 =3  (2,3)

ii) if x= 4 then y = (12-3*4) /2 = (12-12)/2 = 0   (4, 0)
iii) if x= -2 then y= (12-3(-1))/2 = (12+3)/2 =15/2   (-2, 15/2)

===============

if we put y= 0 in given equation we get the point where the line cut the x-axis

3x+2y =12
3x+2*0 =12
3x=12
x=12/3
x= 4
the required point (x,y) = (4,0)
