She was born on 15 December 1988 in a small village Bhiwani district in Haryana and comes from a Jat Hindu family.
Her father Mahavir Singh Phogat was a wrestler and is her coach as well & her mother name is Daya kaur. She is also the first ever Indian female wrestler to have qualified for the Olympics.Geeta is a world Wrestling champion and she won the gold medal in the year 2009 in the commonwealth games.Her success story is filled with a lot of struggle and obstacles which she managed to overcome with hard work and determination. She is an inspiration to millions of girls in the country to go after your dreams regardless of the difficulties that you may encounter.
