there are five main physiographic divisions of India there Himalayas,coastal region,plain,plateau region and the Islands .
the states of Jammu and Kashmir,Himachal Pradesh,Uttarakhand,Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh,Nagaland,Manipur,Mizoram,Tripura,Meghalaya are considered as himalayas
coastal region to the east of india are west bengal,odisha,andhra pradesh and telengana which lies on the belt of bay of bengal.and towards the west are kerela,karnataka,goa,maharashtra and gujrat which lies on the belt of arabian sea.
the plain region consists of Rajasthan which are known as desert plains we have Western Plains which consists of states like Punjab and Haryana the central Plains are uttar pradesh and Bihar which are very fertile we have a delta plane at West Bengal we have Assam to the east which is known as the Eastern plain
the plateau region of India is made together with Jharkhand Chhattisgarh Telangana Madhya Pradesh and some parts of the neighbouring States
the Andaman and Nicobar islands lies in the Bay of Bengal and the Lakshadweep Islands lies in the Arabian Sea
