The ratio of Milk and water = 4 : 1

Given:

The amount of mixture of milk and water = 70 liters

The amount of pure milk in mixture = 56 liters

To find:

The ratio of milk and water in the mixture.

Solution:

To find the ratio of milk and water in the mixture,

we need to find the amount of water mixed in mixture

Given that In 70 liters of mixture of milk and water, 56 liters is pure milk

The amount of water mixed = The total amount of mixture - Pure milk

The amount of water mixed = 70 liters - 56 liters = 14 liters

The ratio of milk and water = 56 liters : 14 liters

= 56 : 14

= 28 : 7    [ divided by 2 ]

= 4 : 1       [ divided by 7 ]

Therefore, the ratio of Milk and water = 4 : 1
