alok speed =
 speed = \frac{distance}{time}
1000 - 800 = 200 m --- distance
speed =  \frac{800}{40}
speed = 20 m / sec

Answer:6.25 m/s

Step-by-step explanation:

as given alok beat abi by 200m and 40 seconds. it means abi cover 200m in 40 seconds.

speed of abi = distance /time

= 200 / 40

=5 m/s

time taken by abi in whole race = distance traveled / speed

= 1000 /5

=200 seconds

as alok take 40 seconds less than abi.

alok completed his racn 160 seconds

so speed of alok = distance / time

= 1000 / 160

=6.25 m/s
