Step-by-step explanation:

Esha will have to cover the distance 700 - 300 = 400 m

 \therefore \:  \frac{2}{3}  =  \frac{400}{x}  \\  \therefore \: x = 400 \times  \frac{3}{2}  \\  \therefore \: x = 600 \\  \therefore \: 700 - 600 = 100 \\

Hence Esha wins by 100 m.

Answer:

speed of esha : speed of Rupert=2 : 3

Let constant of proportionality=x

speed of esha=2x

speed of Rupert= 3x

Since Esha has a head start by 300 m

Distance covered by Esha =300+ 2x

Distance covered by Rupert in same time=3x

300+2x =700

2x=400

x=200

Distance covered by Rupert in the same time in which esha completes the race=3x=3×200=600

So Esha beats Rupert in the race by =700-600= 100m(Answer)
