Given:-

  • In a bag full of small balls, 1/4 of these balls are green, 1/8 are blue, 1/12 are yellow and the remaining 26 white. How many balls are blue?

To find:-

  • The no.of blue balls

Solution:-

Let the total ball be Sum of the other 4 colour balls.

  • (1/4)+(1/8)+(1/12)
  • => (6/24)+(3/24)+(2/24)
  • => 11/24
  • (24–11)/24
  • => 13/24 = 26 white.

Hence the total number of balls are 2*24 = 48.

  • Now we get that of the 48 balls,
  • green are (1/4)*48 = 12,
  • blue are (1/8)*48 = 6,
  • yellow are (1/12)*48 = 4
  • and the rest, white are 26.

Total number of balls = 12+6+4+26 = 48

And Number of blue balls are 6.

48-12+4+26

=>48-42

=>6 balls (blue)

Hope it helped.....

Thanks for asking....☺❤

Answer: There are 6 balls which are Blue , (there are many answeres to this question on brainly but this is a much simpler way to do it )

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the total amount of balls

1/4 x + 1/8 x + 1/12 x + 28/1 (the 28 white balls) = x (the total amount of balls)

(we have taken 1/4 x instead of 1/4 only , as the question mean 1/4 of the total amount of balls in the bag = 1/4 * x = 1/4x)

1*6/4*6 x + 1 * 3/4*3 x + 1*2/12*2 x 28*24/1*24 x = x

= 6x+3x+2x+624/24 = x

= (using some maths) we get answer as 48

therefore , Blue Balls = 1/8 * 48

= 6 Blue balls
