Answer:

  • No. of Rs 1 and Rs 2 coins are 90 and 30 respectively.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

  • No. of Rs 1 coins is 3 times than the no. of Rs 2 coins.
  • There are Rs 150 in the bag.

To Find:

  • The number of both the coins.

Let us assume:

  • Number of Rs 2 coins be x.

Then,

  • Number of Rs 1 coin will be 3x.

Now,

According to the question,

\sf{2(x) + 1(3x) = 150}

Opening the brackets,

\sf{2x + 3x = 150}

Adding 2x and 3x,

\sf{5x = 150}

Transposing 5 from LHS and RHS and changing its sign,

\sf{x=\dfrac{150}{5}}

Dividing 150 by 5,

\sf{x=30}

Hence, x = 30

As,

  • x = 30

Therefore,

  • No. of Rs 2 coins = x = 30
  • No. of Rs 1 coins = 3x = 90
