let no. of 50 paise coins=5x
no. of 25 paise coins=6x
no. of Rs 1 coins=2x
.50*5x+.25*6x+1*2x=42
2.50x+1.5x+2x=42
6x=42
x=7
no. of 25 paise coins=6x=42

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Denomination of coins = 25 paise, 50 paise and 1 rupee

Let the number of coins be = x

Thus,

The number of coins = 5:6:2 = 5x, 6x, 2x

Amount of rupees formed from 1 rupee = 2x

Since, 50 paise is also 1/2 of rupee and there are 5x 50 paise coins, thus the total rupees from 50 paise coins is =  5x/2

25 paise isalso  1/4 of rupee and there are 6x 25 paise coins, thus the total rupees from 25 paise coins is 6x/4 = 3x/2

The total sun of coins = 42 rupees

Therefore,

= 2x + 5x/2 + 3x/2 = 42

= 6x = 42

= x =7

Hence there are, 35 50 paise coins, 42 25 paise coins and 14 1 rupee coins.
