In a bakery,baking powder was not added while preparing cake. The cake obtained was hard and small in size. What is the reason for this?​

The reason is baking powder produces carbon dioxide while added in any substance . This process make the mixture fluffy and lightweight which leads to the preparation of a perfect cake.

Because of not using baking powder.

CO2 doesn't evolve which leads to hard and small size cake.

cakes are spongy due to evolution of CO2
