In a board game, one scores 2 points if one rolls an even number on the die and (−3) points if an odd number is rolled.
Rajesh rolled the die 10 times. He rolled 6 even and 4 odd numbers.

ANSWER.

  • Total points he scored = 0.

SOLUTION.

Here, one scores point 2 if even number is rolled or else -3 if odd number is rolled.

Here,

→ Rajesh rolled 6 even numbers.

→ Points scored here = 6 × 2 = 12

Wait!

→ He also rolled 4 even numbers.

→ Points scored here = 4 × (-3) = -12

Therefore, the total points he scored will be,

= 6 × 2 + 4 × (-3)

= 12 - 12

= 0 (Answer)
