The cost of painting the pillars is Rs.9.68.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : In a building 20 cylindrical pillars are to be painted the diameter and height of each pillar are 44 cm and 7 respectively.

To find : The cost of painting the pillars at the rate of rupees 5 per square meter ?

Solution :

The diameter of the pillar is d=44 cm

The radius of the pillar is r=22 cm

The height is h=7 cm.

The curved surface area of the cylindrical pillar is CSA=2\pi rh

CSA=2\times \frac{22}{7}\times 22\times 7

CSA=968\ cm^2

The area of 1 cylindrical pillar is 968 cm².

The area of 20 cylindrical pillar is 968\times 20=19360 cm².

Converting into meter,

1 m²= 10000 cm²

1 cm²= 0.0001 m²

19360 cm²= 1.936 m²

The cost of painting the pillars at the rate of rupees 5 per square meter.

The cost of painting the pillars is 1.936 \times 5=Rs.9.68
