Given:

Total number of floors= 6

Mr Narang is at ground floor ---> goes up 2 floor and comes down 1 floor

To find:

Number of attempts that Mr Narang will take to reach the 4th floor

Solution:

Relative movement of Mr. Narang= Number of floors that he goes up-Number of floors that he comes down = 1

So, in every attempt he goes up one floor

Therefore, a total of 4 attempts are required to reach the 4th floor.

Number of attempts that Mr Narang will take to reach the 4th floor is 4.
