There are 40 passengers in bus ,some with rs.3 tickets and remaining with rs.10 tickets.the total collection from these passengers is rs.295. find how many passengers have tickets worth rs.3

Answer:

The number passenger who cut Rs 3 ticket is 15

Step-by-step explanation:

let

The number of passenger who took ticket of 3 Rs is x

The number of passenger who took ticket of 10 Rs is y

hence Number of passengers x+y=40

Total collection 295=3\times x+10 \times y

From above two equation, we get

x=40-y

295=3\times x+10 \times y\\295=3\times (40-y)+10 \times y\\295=120-3y+10y\\7y=175\\y=25

x=40-25\\x=15

The number passenger who cut Rs 3 ticket is 15
