Answer : 24cm.

Solution :Given that,

In a circle 10 cm long chord is at a distance of 12 m from the centre.

Radius of the circle , Half the length of chord and Distance form a right angle.

From this,

(Radius)  ^{2}  = 5 ^{2}  + 12 ^{2} = 25 + 144  \\  \\ (Radius) =  \sqrt{ 169 } = 13

Now,

Distance of other chord = 5 cm.

(Radius)² = (Chord/2)² + (Distance)²

13² = (Chord/2 )² + ( 5)²

169 - 25 = ( Chord/2) ²

144 = ( Chord/2) ²

Chord/2 = 12

Chord = 24 cm.

The length of the chord that is 5 cm from the centre is 24cm.
