Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

In a class, 18 students out of 70 play chess. 20 students play carrom and 10 students play

In a class, 18 students out of 70 play chess. 20 students play carrom and 10 students play chess and carrom both .

To find:-

how many students do not play chess or carrom ?

Solution:-

No. of students in a class=70

No. of students who play chess=n(C)=18

No. of students who play Carrom=n(K)=20

No.of students who play both=n(CnK)=10

Using formula:-

n(AUB)=n(A)+n(B)-n(AnB)

n(CUK)=n(C)+n(K)-n(CnK)

=>n(CUK)=18+20-10

=>n(CUK)=38-10

=>n(CUK)=28

No.of students who play atleast one game=28

No. of students who do not any game =70-28

=42

Answer:-

No. of students who do not play Chess or Carrom =42
