In a class 55% students passed in chemistry and 60% passed in maths , 50% passed in both subjects . If 70 students failed in both chemistry and maths , then what is the total number of students.​

percentage of students passed in chemistry=55%

percentage of students passed in maths. =60%

percentage of students passed in both subs= 50%

percentage of students passed only in maths=60-50=10%

therefore total Percentage of students passed =10+55=65%

percentage of students failed=100-65=35%

if 'x' is the total number of students, then,

35/100 × x= 70

x. = 70×(100/35)

= 2× 100

=200 students
