Given

  • number of boys :- 60 % of the total number of students
  • number of girls :- 14

To find

  • the number of students in the class

Solution

If boys are 60 % of the total number of students then , girls will be 40 % of the total number of students !!

  • The total number of students :- 100 %
  • Let the total students be x
  • Also , girls :- 14 ( 40 % of the total number of students )

We can say that ,

40 % of x = 14

→ 40 / 100 × x = 14

→ x = 14 × 100 / 40

→ x = 1400 / 40

→ x = 35

Therefore , the total number of students are 35 !!
