To find -

Find the number of students in the class.

Solution -

Let us assume that there are x students in the class .

Now , the condition given is that each of the students contributed as many rupees as the number of students in the class .

So , we can state this mathematically as -

Total Amount Contributed -

=> x × x

=> x²

But , the total collection is Rs. 625 .

So , we can say that -

x² = 625

x = 25 [ As money can't be negative ]

Thus , the amount contributed by each student is Rs. 25 and so , there are 25 students in the class .
