Answer:

(I) total 40 students

1/5 of total number of students like to study english

then ,

40 × 1/5 = 8

There are 8 students like to study english .

(ii) 2/5 of total number of students like to study mathematics

then ,

40×2/5 = 16

There are 16 students like to study mathematics.

(iii) number of students like to study science = x

8+16+x = 40

24+x = 40

x = 40-24 = 16

fraction = students like to study science / total number of students

= 16/40

= 2/5

2/5 fraction for total number of students like to study science.
