In a class of 48 srudents, the no . of boys is 3/5 of the no. of girls.Find the no. of boys and girls in the class.

let the no. of girls be y.

x=3y/5-------(2)

putting eqn.(1) in eqn.(2)

3y/5+y=48

(3y+5y)/5=48

8y=240

y=30

putting value of y in eqn. (1)

x+30=48

x=18

therefore, no. of boys is 18 and no. of girls is 30.
