In a class of 48 student ,the number of boys is 3/5of the number of girls.find the number of boys and girls in the class.

Let number of girls = x

According to the question :-

Number of Boys 3x/5

Total students = 48

x + 3x/5 = 48

(5x + 3x)/5 = 48

8x = 48×5

8x = 240

x = 240/8

x = 30



Number of girls = x = 30
Number of boys = 3x/5 = (3×30)/5 = 3×6 = 18

Therefore,



Number of boy$ + Number of girl$ = 48




3/5 × X + X = 48




3X/5 + X = 48





3X + 5X = 48 × 5






8X = 48 × 5





X = 48 × 5/8




X = 6×5



X = 30




Number of girls in class room = X = 30



And,



Number of boys = 3/5 × X = 3/5×30 = 18
