Friends….!

Let there be x number of boys.

The number of girls is one third the number of boys

Thus number of girls are x/3

Totsl students in the class are 60 students

x + x/3 = 60

(3x + x)/3 = 60

4x/3 = 60

Cross multiplication

4x = 180

x = 180/4

x = 45

There are 45 number of boys in the class

The number of girls = 60 - 45 = 15 girls.

Answer there are 45 number of boys and 15 number of girls.

There are 15 girls against 45 boys, thus the girls are 1/3 of number of boys.

Means answer is correct.
